[PARROCEL Joseph (1648-1704), Suite de 12 estampes (sur 24) sur Les Mystères de la Vie de Notre-Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Paris, Audran, including 11 19th century reprints (ca. 165 x 185 mm) and no. 11 in an old print without the blade, signed (165 x 183 mm). Yellowed paper of the reprints, one reprint faded, one marginal corner damaged, a few tiny holes in some reprints; Samson victorieux, copperplate engraving by Benoît AUDRAN after F. VERDIER (1651-1730), Paris, F. Chereau (ca. 150 x 210 mm). Plate n°8 from the collection Histoire des actions extraordinaires de Samson en 40 feuilles... Fixed by glue dots, signed, some minor stains; 2 historiated bands for religious work by Karl AUDRAN. 19th century removals, fixed with glue dots (approx. 43 x 110 mm) . a set of about 500 prints of various sizes from the 16th to the 19th century, originating from the collection of Jean-Joseph CARLIER (1794-1874), historian and writer, by his son Louis CARLIER (1846-1921), a journalist close to the Saint-Simonian movement, and his grandson Pierre CARLIER (1877-1923), former Consul General in Usbuk (Turkey). This collection, started and formed mainly in the early and mid-19th century, includes five prints from the MARIETTE collection, initialed and dated on the back in pen and ink by Pierre II MARIETTE (1634-1716). These last ones come most probably from the MARIETTE sale of 1775. Some lots have been joined with the handwritten documents concerning them by Jean-Joseph CARLIER. The description has been as precise as possible, but does not exclude small defects, visible on the photos. The prints are almost all copper engravings, etchings or burins, and unless otherwise stated, are fixed by glue dots on strong 19th century paper and are sold as is. The dimensions are taken at the bowl unless otherwise stated.
