Molded and carved walnut armchair, flat back in the shape of a "chapeau de gendarme", curved armrests and brackets, scalloped waistband. The whole rests on four curved legs terminating in a scroll and joined by an X-shaped brace. Richly decorated with foliage, shells, trellises and acanthus leaves. Regency period. Tapestry upholstery in petit point depicting the Ascension of the Virgin. 104 x 65 x 70 cm. (slight accidents and missing parts, restorations and reinforcements to the brace).
