France, 18th century City or court sword with donkey step, damaged, without scabbard. Steel marcasite frame, globular pommel and faceted spindle, single guard limb. Guard plate missing. Thin, curved donkey steps. Remains of scarlet wool tie. Stained white three-edged blade signed on the heel "LIGER à Paris". (Fuse oxidized, quillon end twisted, guard plate missing, as is). 99 cm (blade 83 cm).
