France, mid-19th century. Long percussion cap. Cal. 18 mm approx. All white metal parts stained in places. Unmarked octagonal barrel. Unmarked and unstamped 1842-type percussion rear lock. Long-barreled blond walnut stock, fitted with 1822-type regulation rifle fittings (trigger guard and butt plate). Functional mechanism, with two clear, play-free cocking notches. The inside of the barrel is oxidized (very probably the work of a "Manuchar" from the Châtellerault arms factory. Good condition). 242 cm (barrel 202 cm).
