Honoré de Balzac, Correspondance. - Lot 212

Honoré de Balzac, Correspondance. Paris, Gallimard, Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, 2006-2017. Almost 4500p. Edition established, presented and annotated by Roger Pierrot and Hervé Yon. The copies presented here are "mousselines" ("This is the name given to copies of works intended to be covered with a binding or cartonnage, but which do not have one and are used as they are, shamelessly showing the muslin glued to their spine to consolidate it"). Thus, certain privileged people who receive "services de presse" (or "S.P.") cherish the muslin supplied by Gallimard, which is nothing other than a volume of the Pléiade without the leather binding. As for the bible paper, it makes these "very paginous" works wonderfully space-saving." The 3 volumes are in their cardboard slipcases, illustrated with a portrait of Balzac by Picasso. All in mint condition. Attached N'ayez pas d'amitié pour moi, j'en veux trop (Letters to "Louise", edition established, presented and annotated by Roger Pierrot and Hervé Yon). Paris, Gallimard, 2018.
