GIL KD (b. 1964).
A Perfect World.
Aerosol and acrylic on wood from the "Ligne de Vie" series.
70 x 70 cm.
Note: GIL KD is a self-taught French artist born in 1964.
Her artistic career began with her grandfather, a draughtsman, and her life as a young adult was shaped by the urban influence of the 80s, when, living in Paris, she first experimented with aerosol cans on the street.
Through her career of creations, exhibitions and artistic performances, Gil KD has found her place and her style.
The artist likes to multiply the risks by varying her supports... She alternates between white stainless steel or mirror aluminum, wood, furniture and even walls or containers.
Her technique is often mixed, combining spray paint and acrylic, collages of posters collected in the street and salvaged materials. Her drawing explores contemporary aesthetics to bring out the beauty and strength of the feminine.
In her intense universe, passion, sensuality, gentleness, pain, wounds and struggles mingle and unravel in turn.
For her, creation is both a language and a vehicle for emotions. The materials she chooses and uses are both the expression of a duration and the testimony of a memory or recollection. ...
Today, her work is available both indoors and outdoors, and combines the strength of the street with the delicacy of the woman.
