France, Third Republic (1870-1940). LEFAUCHEUX Marine model 1870 centerfire revolver, with 1874 stock modification. Cal. 11.1 mm. 6 shots. Serial no. "LF 2225". All parts to the same number. All metal parts in white polished finish. Round rifled barrel with rear sight and rod slide. The top of the frame is marked on two lines "LEFAUCHEUX" "Bte SGDG PARIS" ". The left side is marked "LF" surmounted by a small pistol and "2225" and hallmarked: "G". Six-shot smoothbore cylinder, hallmarked "Q" and "50". Smooth walnut stock plates each stamped "2225" and rosette screws. Stock cap with ring stamped with navy anchor. Rod present. Very good functional mechanism in single and double action with two clean, play-free cocking notches. Mirrored barrel interior with good scratches. Complete. 24 cm (barrel 12 cm). (Not common, very nice mechanism. Good condition). Weapon classified in category "D" of decree n° 2023-557 of July 3, 2023, free to acquire and hold.
