BERTHIER model 1890 cavalry snap hook from St Étienne.
Cal 8 mm Lebel. Serial no. "F 3429". All parts to the same no. in their original tan with traces of orange peel oxidation in places. The barrel is dated "MAS 1892", stamped "JH" and "P" in a circle (x 2). The receiver is marked "Mdle 1890 St Étienne". The thunderhead is stamped "N" to indicate that the firing pin chamber and spring have been modified to accept the new Model 32 N 8 mm cartridge. Dark walnut stock with the same no. and label dated 1923. Complete. Functional mechanism. Inside of barrel dirty with minor surface oxidation and shallow scratches. In original condition, never in collection, needs cleaning. (As is).
Weapon classified in category "C" of decree no. 2018-542 of June 29, 2018, and subject to declaration. The purchaser MUST present his identity card and valid hunting permit or shooting license + consultation of the FINIADA file.
