[Manuscript, 17th century] Interesting manuscript containing - Lot 448
[Manuscript, 17th century] Interesting manuscript containing numerous Latin and French quotations. ca.1650, approx. 220p. Important collection of quotations, without reference, from Ovid (metamorphoses, amours), Claudian (Prospérine's abduction), Virgil, and others. If no table is provided, the subjects of the quotations are indicated in glosses. The French quotations include a sonnet by Tristan l'Hermite and others by the same author (Vers héroïques, La mer). Notes on back cover. Remainder of period binding, most certainly incomplete compared to original (mainly first and last pages). A fine manuscript for study.
