CURTA Type I calculating machine by Contina Ltd Mauren (Liechtenstein). Serial no. 48216. Height: 11 cm. In cylindrical case. Height: 13 cm. With documentation. The Curta was invented by Curt Herzstark (Austrian engineer) during his imprisonment in the Buchenwald concentration camp. Following the Second World War, he perfected the design, and it was sold until 1972, when cheap electronic calculators were introduced.
