FRANCE, Third Republic (1870-1940).
Polytechnique student's bicorne, circa 1900.
In black taupe felt edged with black silk braid decorated with oak leaves. Flat gilded brass band held by a small module button stamped with the artillery motif (not conforming) and tricolor cloth cockade. Black silk inner cap and wide black squared leather sweatband, size 56. White reception markings on the bottom of the cap, worn and illegible. Worn. Comes in its wooden carrying case, stamped "656" on the outside.
(wear and minor accidents, the button on the ganse not conforming to the model of the artillery and not the Ecole Polytechnique. Fairly good condition).
