Pair of large circular polychrome earthenware dishes with humorous decor featuring Gargantua holding kitchen utensils for one and running with a ham on the bone for the other. Inscribed "Le Gargantua, Vouvray".
Marked GIEN, FRANCE and dated 1957 on reverse.

Note: This pair of dishes was ordered from Gien by the owners of "La Gargantua" restaurant in Vouvray.
