GOYARD. Rectangular travel trunk in coated "goyardine" canvas with herringbone pattern, beechwood reinforcements and riveted leather straps, spandrels, draw handles, hasp clasps and brass lock escutcheon. The whole resting on four small cylindrical castors. Monogrammed "M.G.G" in white stencil, engraved and stamped several times on brass and leather "E. GOYARD Ainé, 233 rue Saint Honoré à Paris" and bearing two manufacturer's labels "Malle GOYARD, 233 rue Saint Honoré, Paris, Monte-Carlo, Biarritz". The hinged lid reveals a compartmentalized interior lined with grey canvas. Early 20th century. 33 x 86 x 52 cm.
