Model 1855/72 firefighters' helmet from the commune of "SECONDIGNY" (Dept. 79 Deux-Sèvres).
Embossed brass shell and crest, model 1872 headband with radiant and sandblasted background with oak and olive leaves, shield with flaming grenade broaching two crossed axes, and motto on banners "SAPEURS POMPIERS" "DE SECONDIGNY". Plume-holder with scarlet rooster feather plume, olive missing. Flat brass cut-out scale chinstraps lined with black velvet and rosettes embossed with concentric circles. Inner cap missing. (Wear and tear, traces of gilding, minor dents on the bomb, three crest screws missing, crest slightly recessed and deformed on the front. As is).
