Small in-8 paperback, XXXI-36 pp, one of three hundred copies, numbered by the press, on small paper. Good reprint of a famous popular educational reading book from the XVIIᵉ century, whose main theme is cooking and which has since become a reference in gourmet libraries. It is also a moral book for children, encompassing all aspects of rustic life. The woodcuts (according to Vicaire in the preface) are said to have come from various hawker printers, and are of uneven workmanship.
