All edges gilt. Bordered slipcase. Signed binding by Charles Septier. 213pp. Rare first edition of one of Gide's most famous writings, despite an initial almost confidential distribution. Fewer than 500 copies were sold in the 10 years following its publication. Charles Septier, a former worker of Charles Meunier, was active in Paris from 1933 to 1958. Talvart et Place VII-40 7a. First cover slightly cracked.
