Paris, 1922, Lucien Vogel, 1922, in-4 brown half-suede, edged with green fillet, boards covered with Art Deco patterned waxed cloth. Binding signed Christiane Pesqué. Anticipatory piece set in the year 2028! Zygsmunt Léopold Brunner (1878-1961), a Polish painter, draughtsman and illustrator, arrived in France in 1900. He contributed to a number of satirical and fashion magazines (La baïonnette, l'Assiette au beurre, le Rire, la Gazette du Bon Ton). His work as an illustrator led him to draw both children's books and erotica. He is a privileged witness to the Montmartre of the interwar period.
