Giuseppe Melchiorri, Nuova guida metodica di Roma e suoi con - Lot 492
Giuseppe Melchiorri, Nuova guida metodica di Roma e suoi contorni.
Roma, 1834. In-12, [8]-887-[1]p.
Beautiful edition advertised with 40 engravings and 4 maps, however, this is clearly an error as the first two maps are numbered 1 and 2. The next has no number. We then find 37 engravings numbered from 4 to 40, sometimes 2 per page, and a card in the middle with no number.
We therefore believe this work to be complete with 41 engravings, including 4 maps (map no. 2 is in color, p.74). Our copy conforms to the digitized copy we were able to consult.
Full parchment, smooth spine, fillets, title page. Untrimmed, one leaf with tear, margin of folding maps with usual small tear. Some foxing.
A fine copy.
