Indeterminate (Switzerland?), mid-19th century. Black leather shako, composite. Truncated cone-shaped shaft and cap in black patent leather, black patent leather bourdalou at the base of the shaft. Square-shaped visor in black patent leather with green waxed underside. French front plate with uncrowned 2nd Empire eagle in stamped brass (part of a giberne or streamer?). Inner cap with wide black leather band. Front height 10 cm x rear height 14 cm. Dim. front plate (6 x 5.5 cm) (Age-related wear and patina. Fairly good condition).
