Based on a design by Robert HANCOCK (1730-1817). Copper and painted enamel bonbonnière in the shape of an exotic bird near a fruit basket. The lower part opens with a pompom-mounted lid depicting a still life in a landscaped park. Late 18th century. 6 x 7 x 5 cm. (slight crazing). Note: To be compared with a model in the Metropolitan Museum, New York, Gallery 512.
