France, Third Republic (1870-1940). 1918-style police cap for a captain of the 25th Battalion of Alpine Chasseurs, in fine black wool with daffodil piping. Silver passementerie rank braces arranged in a chevron pattern on the front. Corps number "25" surmounting the corps de chasse, embroidered with silver piping on the front left side. Black sateen inner cap and black leather sweatband. Worn. (In uncovered condition, wear and tear, rank brackets partly detached, needs cleaning, as is).
