Sabre de bord modèle 1833 dit "cuillère à pot", by Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault, 1843.
Frame with clamshell guard and flared steel spindle, repainted old black. Leather tie present (painted black). White, shallow-curve blade with hollow front and flat back, engraved with the vertical anchor on both sides (worn). Marking on blade back: "Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault juin 1843". Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings. In original condition, never in collection.
81 cm (Blade 67.5 cm).
(wear and patina of use, the scabbard leather seems to have been repainted in black at the same time as the frame, fairly good condition).
