Switzerland, mid-19th century. Glaive de Pionnier model 1842/52, without scabbard. Cast brass mounting with 26 grooves. Smooth ovoid pommel topped by a dome housing the riveting knob. Blade with gray patina, flat-backed and saw-toothed. Manufacturer's mark and logo on blade heel "Weyersberg Solingen" and control stamp. Scarlet wool tie present. 66.5 cm (blade 51.5 cm). (fairly good condition).
