Hetzel, 1846, ORIGINAL EDITION, pt. in-8, brown "cognac" half-chagrin with corners, multicolored marbled paper boards, stippling, garland, gilt author and title on light brown chagrin title-piece on spine with 4 nerves, period binding, (4) - 184 - IV pp., frontispiece and black ill. in and out of text by Bertall, table of contents, bookplate in relief on pretitle page by C. Paula Maria. A history of 19th-century gastronomic life in Paris, with superb drawings by Bertall. Binding in very good condition, restored; a few small scattered foxings, but not serious.
