The tone is set by the author himself. It is still a book in which the author teaches us about the knowledge and preservation of food. Three distinct sections: preserves in general - petits fours, candies and candied fruits - recipes for the sick and convalescents. Réf Vicaire 418 - Oberlé - Fastes 229. RARE first edition with author's frontispiece.
Good overall condition; cover slightly faded, quires not aligned but solid in binding, one rectangle of paper cut on pre-title page but not affecting text, very few scattered freckles.
