BRILLAT-SAVARINAnthelme: "Physiology of taste".
S.l. (Paris or Dijon), éditions du Raisin - Maurice Darantière, October 1930, expl. no. 527/1000 on Auvergne laid paper, large in-8, br. filled, ill. cover in black with title in red ed., complete title in black and red capitals on smooth spine ed., 464 - (2) pp. Brillat-Savarin's "Physiology of Taste" needs no introduction, but this edition is special! It was produced by Maurice Darantière (1882 - 1960), a printer and publisher from Dijon. He and his father Victor were two master printers renowned in bibliophile circles for the care they took with their typography and the quality of their choice of paper, making their "creations" highly sought-after! In 1926, Maurice Darantière set up his own publishing house, "Les Editions du Raisin", located in the former Hôtel de Sagane in the Marais district of Paris. In addition to its first printing, this copy is one of the most sought-after books by this publishing house and by collectors of Brillat-Savarin's "Physiology of Taste".
Very good condition, with some very light foxing to the last leaf and a debossed mark on the back cover.
