LÖCHNER, Ulf: "The gourmet library of Mr. Ulf Löchner. Catal - Lot 269

We are delighted to present you with this catalog devoted to ancient and modern works on gastronomy, oenology and tobacco, precious witnesses to the art of living through the centuries. From the "Ménagier de Paris" to the great classics by Carême and Escoffier, via Grimod de La Reynière's "Almanachs des Gourmands", this anthology brings together texts that have shaped the history of taste and the pleasures of the table. Scholarly treatises rub shoulders with collections of family recipes, culinary dictionaries and spiritual pamphlets. There are also rare first editions, illustrated volumes and copies with prestigious bookplates, as well as some exceptional books on wines, such as Antoine LAVOCAT's "Le vigneron expert, ou la vraie manière de cultiver la vigne" from 1787, and François BRAC's "Le commerce des vins réformés, réctifiés, et épurés" in its original edition of 1769. Tobacco enthusiasts are not forgotten, and will find here Jean NEANDER and his "Traité du tabac ou Nicotiane" from 1630, as well as a remarkable sales catalog for Cubatabaco brand Cuban cigars, an advertising aid for the brand's representatives.

Connoisseurs of the history of cooking and the hotel trade will discover some unmissable references, while bibliophiles will appreciate the quality of the bindings and the rarity of the print runs of certain works. This catalog is as much for passionate collectors as for the curious in search of unique items. We invite you to browse these pages with curiosity and relish: they reflect a heritage that is both tasty and erudite.
