Enameled terracotta tile with polychrome low-fire decoration depicting a young woman in profile in the style of Renaissance paintings. Bearing the inscription Lucrezia Tornabuoni Botticelli and an antique label on the reverse.
Size of tile: 16 x 12.5 cm.
Dimensions of frame: 30.5 x 27 cm.
Note: This portrait is of Simonetta Vespucci, painted after Botticelli's portrait in the Städel Museum, Frankfurt. Simonetta Vespucci was an Italian noblewoman born in 1427, famous at the court of Lorenzo the Magnificent for her beauty and charm.
