Troupe de Cuirassier model 1874 helmet, composite.
Nickel-plated steel helmet with traces of oxidation, three vent holes with visor and neck cover, edged with brass piping and lined with beige basane. Crest composed of two fins embossed with a series of 12 gadroons. Mask with palmette at the bottom and jellyfish head at the top. The braided braid is partly present and the black mane is about 45 cm long. Marmoset with black mane puff. Brass headband embossed with a flaming pomegranate, surrounded by laurel leaves. Pair of attached chinstraps, in the style of 1912 gendarmerie helmets on foot or horseback, with cut-out and scalloped nickel silver scales and lion's head rosettes. Complete with inner cap in brown basane with seven wolf's teeth. Plume-holder present, with scarlet cock feather plume without olive. Complete. Worn. In uncovered condition, never collected before.
(Wear and minor accidents from use, the bomb with superficial traces of oxidation, the beige coating on the basanes of the visor and the nape of the neck as well as the inner cap seem to have melted, the chinstrap not to the model and reported, in its juice. Fairly good condition.)
