France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Reengaged infantry non-commissioned officer's sword, model 1887, without scabbard. Gilt cast brass mounting, diabolo pommel. Watermarked wooden forend. Flaming grenade keypad, manceaux system counter-keypad. Double-edged, double-gutted blade, oxidized and originally with nickel-plated finish. Comes with a brown leather strap. 101 cm (Blade 86 cm). (Wear and tear, handle watermark damaged, as is).
