Yemen or Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia), late 19th century. Silver-plated Djambya dagger with belt. Horn handle with small studded decoration. Short, curved, double-edged blade in white polished steel. Wooden scabbard richly decorated with friezes and floral motifs in cut silver metal. 31.5 cm (blade 21 cm). Blue velvet belt embroidered with silver thread motifs. The belt holds a small perfume or incense flask and a Qur'an holder, both in sequentially decorated silver-plated metal. Belt length 108 cm. (Wear and minor wear. Fairly good condition).
