Germany, June 1940 - March 1943. Large demarcation line sign for a checkpoint in Indre-et-Loire (Dept 37). Rectangular wooden sign, originally made in four parts. The lower part with the French text has disappeared. The inscriptions were made manually with a brush in black on a white background and on four lines: "DemarkationsLinie - Überschreiten nur mit Ausweis gestallet" "Ligne de démarcation" "......". The panel is edged in black. In uncovered condition, never before in collection. 62 x 145 cm. (Wear and accidents, lower part missing, very fragile panel. As is). Note: This signpost comes from the checkpoint that was located on the road from Ligueil (37240) to Châtillon sur Indre (36700).
