HANHART. - Lot 76
HANHART. No. 124893. Pilot's wrist chronograph in steel and chrome-plated metal with "return to flight" function. Case: round, screw-down back, "stossfest" and "bodenfedelstahl" metal markings on back in German. Dial: black with Arabic numeral hour markers, two counters for 30-minute and seconds indications, signed. Movement: mechanical with manual winding, numbered "124893". Case diameter: 39 mm. Note: Hanhart watches made their mark on German aviation during the Second World War, particularly with their on-board chronographs used by Luftwaffe pilots. These historic timepieces represent a fascinating aspect of military watchmaking, where technical precision met the most stringent operational requirements. Hanhart chronographs from this era were distinguished by their robustness and exceptional legibility, as well as the "return to flight" function, essential qualities for airborne missions.
