Privately made, unmarked, junior Health Service Officer's sword, March 19, 1872 model.
Mounted in cast brass. Diabolo pommel. The spindle is entirely copper filigree. Kidney-shaped keyboard with Epidaurus snake flanked by oak and olive branches, folding counter-keyboard with manceaux system. White double-throated blade, unmarked. Buffalo tie present. Nickel-plated steel scabbard with one suspension ring. Comes with officer's wrist strap with fringed tassel and gold passementerie runner and brown cord.
103 cm (blade 87 cm).
(Wear and accidents, scabbard with minor traces of oxidation in places, strap damaged and missing. Fairly good condition.)
