Cork Presses—pharmacy or laboratory use. These objects were used to compress corks that had been previously scalded in order to reduce their size and facilitate their insertion into bottles. They were particularly indispensable in pharmacy shops and were intended to impress, both by their weight and by their mechanism or decoration. With a few exceptions, the items being auctioned are featured and documented in the masterful work by BULL & PARADI, *Wine Antiques & Collectibles*, an internationally recognized reference.
