A large Scriban sideboard with a curved front and sides, finished in burl and ivory veneer. The upper section, centered with a scroll motif, opens with two doors to reveal a cabinet with a central door flanked by fourteen small drawers leading to three shelves and a small drawer. The middle section opens via a drop-down panel that serves as a writing desk, resting on two retractable supports and revealing two small glass-fronted doors flanked by two secret compartments and six small drawers. The lower section forms a chest of drawers with two drawers in two rows, featuring a scalloped lower rail. The entire piece rests on four curved legs. Rich allegorical decoration featuring female figures, allegories, and mythological deities. Ornamentation includes chiseled and gilded bronze elements such as lock plates, leaf-motif pull handles, lamp bases, and corner motifs. Ink signature and date “1850” on the top of the lower section. 19th-century foreign work. 235 x 124 x 70 cm. (cracks, minor imperfections, missing pieces, and typical restorations).
